Dear Friends of the
Alliance,

We wish you a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year crowned with the freedom that has made our country a land of hope and opportunity. May liberty flourish and may we do our part to see that it does.

In 2009 the Alliance will dedicate all our efforts to empowering parents, future parents, and leaders of parents to overcome the barriers that keep many from choosing independence. Most barriers come down to fear, lack of confidence, and inadequate information about the true purposes of government schooling and the many options available.

We want to share a vision of family-directed learning that will help parents overcome these obstacles. The good news is that for most these are surmountable obstacles to freedom in education. Fear can be overcome; confidence built. Information is there if we can get it in the hands of parents.

The future depends on our vision and action. We must face the truth boldly and act on the facts. We are in a battle for our children and the future that can be won first and foremost by encouraging decision-makers, parents, to embrace their role confidently and resolutely.

Our vision can encourage parents to build a new and bold heritage for their children that will transform the future.

We believe the future is ours - if we will do what is necessary and make it ours. This will not happen unless we begin to choose education that is free of state control.

Yours,

Alan Schaeffer
