At that time, SBC leaders will have the opportunity to bring to the floor and consider a resolution calling for member churches to develop exit strategies so parents can remove their children from public schools.
So – Where’s the action? You, or anyone you know, can write to an SBC delegate or messenger or to a member of the Resolutions Committee. In the past, such resolutions have failed to make it out of committee, but things look different this time. Pastor Darrell Orman of First Baptist Church in Stuart, Florida, is a member of the Resolutions Committee and has recently stated publicly that he thinks churches should actively support independent education. If you are an SBC member, now is the time to contact your SBC messenger, members of the Resolution Committee, and SBC President Dr. Bobby Welch. Please encourage him to support bringing the Moran/Shortt Exit Strategy Resolution to the floor for a vote. If you are not an SBC member, you can still contact members of the Resolution Committee and SBC President Dr. Bobby Welch and tell them how important this issue is to all Christians. Here are the names and contact information for the ten members of the committee and SBC President Dr. Bobby Welch.
