The Alliance at the World Congress of Families

Photos and comments by Alan Schaeffer, President

The Alliance introduced new banners at our booth for the World Congress of Families.  Our booth was our contact point to meet individuals and leaders of other family-supporting organizations from around the world, including the United States!

The strength of our graphics is their boldness.  The strength of our new message is gentleness and hope.

Our message appeals specifically to the common foundation we share with our audience.

The center quote is:

“A country is no freer,
a society no stronger
than the families
that comprise it.”

This was also the fundamental premise of the entire Congress.

This was also the debut of some of our new literature, including our Strong Families brochure.  We were able to share our message of education free of state involvement with many people who had never given it a thought.

While the idea of separation can cause many to put us at arms length, in general I encountered more interest than objection with those I talked to.

Gracing the middle of the counter is the Alexis de Tocqueville Award we presented to Dr. James Tooley during the conference.
